Appreciate the help. I'm going to seriously consider using the lighter oil. My car is due for an oil change soon. The other day I was helping a family member buy a new car at the BMW dealer and the finance manager told me it was a good idea to get the powertrain warranty. I didn't give it much thought, since everyone keeps saying these M3's are bulletproof. But now I know.
