Its definitely up to personal preference. I'm used to left/right like the new DCT, but I test drove a 2010 135i with push/pull and it drove me crazy. I think they made the push/pull mostly for traffic circles, especially here where starting from a stop and shifting while turning is required in those circles. you wouldn't need to hit the correct paddle, you could hit either.
Still, I wasnt used to it, I was used to left/right, so I screwed that up really quick, lol.
