If you have to justify the cost of owning a car and talk about MPGs and such, then i would suggest not looking at these types of cars for now. Wait till you're out of school, and buy an M3 (cpo) as a gift to yourself after working at your first job for 1 year.
I made the mistake of buying a new rsx s when I was in university (35k cad tax in 2002) and looking back it was a bad idea, but I did enjoy it, so enjoy your G for a few more years.
