I talked to the Hawk rep again today. Apparently there was a confirmed problem with "a few" pads coming loose from their backing plates. They have since modified their process (called "NRS", whatever that means) where they use a bunch of "fingers" coming out of the backing plate as well as their bonding agent. Apparently this worked so well that they implemented it across the board.
