Does your hood vents open or close?

If it was open, is it bad for the engine when the water get into inside? get dirty?
may going to put the supercharge on it in the future. Problem?

thank you!
I can only speak for my supercharged 323i with Vorsteiner hood that has more vents I believe than the Vorsteiner M3 hood. Mine are actually closed. You can't tell they are closed unless you're standing right on top of my hood and looking down at a certain angle.

Absolutely no problems with having closed vents with supercharger. With open vents you shouldn't worry about water getting in, EXCEPT in cases where maybe you have your car stationary with snow packed on top of the hood (over time the snow can melt and water could seep in thru the vents... speaking only for the E46 Vorsteiner hoods MAYBE in that scenario water could drip in thru the vents but whether it causes any sort of electrical issues I can't say without knowing what is specifically in the area below the vents on the M3 Vorsteiner hood.
