It is a fact. It says so explicitly in many official BMW technical documents. There are threads on Bimmerpost listing owners' spring rates. Mine with ZCP and DCT has springs marked X7 in the front and X4 at the back - if others with E92 ZCPs would like to list theirs, you'll see a difference if their equipment level is different to mine. Obviously, I'm only listing ZCP as an example, but the differences also apply to EDC or no EDC etc.
