My M3 is safely garaged, but I need to take her to a wedding this weekend in Tarrytown, and am a bit concerned about draining the tank.

I'm also very upset I will likely need to drive conservatively.

I'm on Long Island fairly close to the city, and the lines for gas here are simply unbelievable. My wife read this morning, though, that a major shipment of fuel just hit the area, so now it's just a matter of getting it distributed. And once electricity is more fully restored in the next few days, those stations that had been sitting idle will be up and running, and people will stop filling jerry cans for their generators.

I was in southern NJ several weeks ago after a track day and was on fumes, with a good 30 miles or so to go before the next Sunoco on the Jersey Turnpike. It was a bit tense, but hypermiling an M3 can be done. I just cruised at 60-65mph in 7th gear, with Accords, Geo Metros and ox carts blowing by me in the left lane...
