In a road car with stock brakes and street tires the limits just aren't that high. It would be much more impressive if he was 5 seconds off the pro in the racecar. Sounds like it was his 4th time at this particular track not sure of his overall experience level. For myself I usually feel comfortable at a new track after 10 to 12 laps, certainly after 4 DEs. If it was his 4th time ever going to a DE then that is doing pretty well!
