It's a sweet car man. And if you can afford to keep it and get a e90 as well I would do so. I let my 04 29,xxx mile modded e46 go and wish I had it back. Don't know you personally but I am pretty damn meticulous with my toys as well. And sadly I had to let it go for way less then I wouldve liked because the market is what it is. So all im saying is that if the car is worth what you feel what it is worth and you can keep it i'd do so. Wish I still had mine. Love my e92 but I shouldve kept the e46 as well.
