The finish is different and where paint will chip powdercoat, even though it is more durable, just breaks off the wheels....I've gone both routes in the past and haven't really had and issues with either..u can paint the wheels as many times as ur want and it's soooo much easier to touch up then powdercoat. Powdercoat is kinda a once or twice at most kinda thing...all I know is volk doesn't powdercoat there wheels so there must be a reason
