Headlight aiming is not an arbritrary thing. You can't just aim it how you feel like it. There are actually standards published by SAE on how the lights should be aimed. The aiming spec is to ensure that a specified percentage of the light output is directed at the groudn and not towards the eyes of other drivers. This is part of the reason auto-leveling technology was incorporated into automotive lighting.
