If you got to bmwusa.com and do a CPO model search, you can choose M models/M3 and this car comes up for zip 93455.

Cars that have had accidents can be certified, but there are limits to the extent of the repairs. I think any frame damage disqualifies it, but if it's just body/paint work, it can still be CPOd.

I'd bet someone leased it, was in over their head, traded it back, and the car has been enjoyed by the dealership staff while they haven't been able to resell it. And once the car had a collision, they spent the $ to CPO it to offset the history.


I would demand details of the accident and repairs since it occurred while in dealership possession. Don't stand for any of the usual "privacy"/"can't release records" crap in this case. my 2c.
