I know the LED's can get hot, but I didn't think it was as hot as the HID's. I know I've seen some tests with AiB's here that showed them not quite as hot.
But I agree, never heard anything about them melting anything... I think the heat thing is mostly paranoia. Only issues I have ever heard of were with the camaross kits causing some discoloration in the plastic, but no melting. Nothing from Alpine either, no discoloration or melting.
Aaron, please either post the evidence of this or don't mention it at all. As Alex said, rumors are bad...
