History
Sabelt was founded in September of 1972 by a couple of car enthusiasts who saw the need for safety equipment in rallying cars. In March of 1973, Lancia contracted Sabelt to produce their safety equipment in their Fulvia Coupe. Although safety equipment was generally on the rise, the motorsports community did not see a spike in equipment until FIA standardization of safety equipment in 1976. Soon after, Sabelt introduced the first ever rotating buckle, which landed them a contract with Ferrari's F1 team in 1976. Ever since then, Sabelt has been the benchmark for safety equipment in everything motorsports.
