We spoke about this at today's drive, and I'll agree with Ausfredy, 600-odd hp is just going to be a waste of time and money. If you're planning to race, then race it as is, and take it from there. You're going to get a lot more out of it with suspension and other aids, rather than just going all out power.

An M3 is going to be a lot more fun IMO than a 135 or 1M. I have my E36 with an S50B30 with MoTeC on it, and its quick enough around a track, and also, you'll get more fun by trying to better your times on a car like the M3, stock, than throwing more power at it.

Going faster isn't always necessarily better. Think about the rest of the car, putting more power means, if you're tracking it, going to better brakes, and then does that mean you want to put race seats in it, and if you do that, then a half cage? That 15k turns out to be 50k before you know it. And unless you're going to be racing for money, there's no point in being the fastest at club track days. There is always someone quicker and better than you, thats a given.
