Born and raised in the UK here, consumer electronics can be had considerably cheaper thanks to a booming European grey market and cut-throat competition on the High Street. In terms of getting paid more for the same job, highly debatable and we'll leave that discussion for another day
Lastly, I've actually noticed expensive cars being considerably more commonplace there than in North America.
