Slotted rotors allow gas to ventilate during brake fade. Slotted has more material than drilled, means better heat dissipation. They have more disc surface, maintain around 96% of the friction surface. During wet driving, the slots have a better wiping away of water versus drilled. Slots also wipe the pads to keep the pad surface clean. Also, drilled can play 'connect the dots', causing cracks. If you are going to actually track the car pretty hard, get a slotted big brake kit. A lot of the BBK's out there are for piston-counters.
