I think I know exactly what's happening. When I installed my RE SSK part of the process was to remove the stock cylinder shape part that holds the shift linkage. That part needs to be reused with addition to a RE piece. There is a slot on either side of the cylinder that needs to be pushed up till it locks into place.
During the install It was a PITA trying to get it to lock but seeing as it was tight I left it. During testing it popped out. I finally got it to pop in after 30min of messing around.
I'm 99% sure thats the issue.
