RIP for sure. Inspiring man. a great songwriter/musician, and part of a legendary band.
I remember the first time I saw The Hip. It was a New Years' Eve blast at Canada Place and it was just before Up to Here was released. The headlining act was actually The Northern Pikes, so The Hip played just before them. This was Vancouver so not many people knew much about them ... they absolutely tore the place the down. First and last mosh pit I've ever been in where all the guys were in suits and the women were in evening wear. Was incredibly cool and we were 10 feet from the stage.
