The engine change was really a lateral move for Mercedes. They needed a less torquey motor for their 7 speed tranny.

If you check out the Merc site now they are quoting the 2010 E63 at 518bhp. Must have tweaked something for this year. It's getting like the motorbike world with changes every 6 months.
