I just drove the regular 3.6 and don't know why it got car of the year. I'm no brand-snob as I still own and cherish a 95 Impala SS, but I felt the interior looked nice but felt especially cheap, and the drive was neither sporty nor particularly engaging. The V will definitely raise my interest as a sort of sleeper-fast car with a boat load of fun power. But I still think the interior is a let down and should be better if it's a caddy - leave the no nonsense interior to the next RWD Impala SS
