IMHO yes. This problem arised because when DCT came out there were several instances in which the techs changed the DCT fluid (DCT doesnt need the change) and used the manual transmission fluid, ruining the DCT transmission. The confusion was because the SMG transmissions need the same services as the manual one and use the same fluids. My speculation is that to avoid that problem BMW now recommends no oil change at all but I havent seen anything in writing. Check
