LOL!

Nobody should be surprised.

The Auto industry has been full of scammers from the day the first car ever rolled off the line.

Automotive repair
Appliance repair
Home Repair

Are the biggest industry for scams and cheating because so many people don't know anything about cars, appliances and home repairs that it is easy to scam. Add to that some of the people that work in these industries and its easy to see why there are so many scams. And yes, BMW dealerships are not immune to this either. The fuel filter scam that dealers and Jiffy Lube like to do because it is often very hard to check and hard for you to tell that it was done. If someone tried to figure out how much money is lost every year in repairs it would be $$ Billions of dollars.

It just pisses me off to no end and is why I try to do as many repairs on my own as possible and when I can't, I do the "mark the filter" trick or watch them like a hawk.

The only way these scams would stop is if they states would permantly shut down these shops and fine the crap out of them.
