If you use the right button (at the top of the seat back) it moves forward fast enough for it not to be a pain, and it will return to the preset position if you press and hold the button in the reverse direction.

If you use the wrong button (the forward/backward adjustment on the seat base) it does take a while, and will not go back to the preset position.
