Agree, as much as I'd love to putter around with the car and have time for a hobby to learn these things, I'm not at a point in my life when I can find the time. Time does have an opportunity cost associated with it, both monetary and non-monetary (spending time with family, kids etc). At some point would love to do more DIY stuff, but in the meantime so much easier to deal with the dealer and get a free loaner and have a job done right, and as you said, if you have a good relationship with your SA they will match prices (usually doesn't take more than a couple minutes of conversation and a web page link!
