I bought the CIC unit, screen, cables, USB port, iDrive controller and pre-fitted emulator from an eBay seller in Lithuania. Cost me about $1380 express shipped.
Also had to buy a replacement centre console trim to suit the new iDrive controller. Got that from an online store based in Romania that orders out of Germany and then ships to Australia. That cost me about $485 shipped. However forum member drjekl can help you with this bit.
Did the install myself as well as the coding. Definitely worth it!
