when my x3 was on order, i tracked it just the same way we are doing with the m3, and when it finally arrived at the dealership, they said they would need another 24 hours to get it prepped for delivery. i said i wasn't leaving the dealership without my car and they humored me by doing a quick/partial cleanup (removing plastic, styrofoam, quick vacuum, etc.). the condition was that i would bring it back to the dealership at 7:00am the next morning so they could properly prep it. that worked out fine becaus i worked that day and by the time i was done with work, it was ready.
