I have ran both a lot, and even though the slicks are faster the r comps are so much fun sliding around. I like R1's pretty well too, Hoosier grip with more life. Conti slicks don't like slip angle. I've got 18x10 apex's with 275 slicks all around. Hopefully the stoptech street pads are up to the task...
Sounds good - enjoy and be safe!

Personally, I've had tons of fun with the PSC and being able to drive to-from the track, with extra track wheels/PSCs in the car, is worth the "price" of giving up a little bit when it comes to ultimate lap times...

I'm a PFC pad guy so I have no experience with any of ST's street or track/race pads. From what I've read on the forum it sounds like a lot of people use that ST pad as a dual-purpose pad without any major issues.
