I've disassembled 2 sets of these in the past few months, and the adhesive they use to hold the trim ring and the centers in place is some pretty strong stuff. This time around, I decided to get some Goo Gone and spray it on the affected parts and let them sit overnight. Took me all of 2 mins to remove the goop. To say I was pleased would be an understatement. The stuff peeled right off. Figured I share in the event someone else does this in the future.
