The BMW navigation never labels the streets I want or need to see, nor does it allow me to move the map around easily. I basically just end up using my cell phone when i need navigation.

The navigation system on my 09 E90 M3 is the worst I have seen in any car. My Acura MDX is the best.
The BMW system does NOT tell you the name of the street you are on!!--You have to try to twist your head to read the name in small print off the map. This can get you killed. It should have the name of the street you are driving on displayed horizontally in big letters across the bottom of the screen, as in my MDX.
BTW, a software upgrade will just add new streets to the system. The design of the screen is unchanged. I confirmed this a few days ago from my BMW service manager, so I did not order the $500 update.
