1 more data point: My 09 has been doing this since day 1. I have been using this "feature" as a "soothing vibration generator" when the infant would start crying at traffic lights: Put in N and rev up to 1500-ish.

My "simplistic" explanation is that the V8 engine is balanced assuming the entire drive train is connected. This explains why there are no vibrations when any gear is engaged at that rpm.
