I’d say the Evo may be raw (GSR) but the STI doesn’t feel raw to me (except in stock power delivery). You can obviously make it that way for not a lot of money. The ride is more comfortable than my RX8 was and the RX8 isn’t known for a harsh ride.
If I didn’t have kids I wouldn’t have gotten the STI. Without kids I’d be shopping for a 370z, Camaro SS, used M3 Coupe or a 135 coupe. The STI lets me a “Responsible Dad” while being really fun too. You really can back a lot of crap in there, made two landfill runs already with my son in the car (old computers, monitors and such).
In, two weeks I add a Magnaflow CBE, Whiteline steering rack bushings and some tail light tints to fix the nasty rear lights.
I did spot my first 1 series in my area at the local Kohls, gray 128i.
