I spent considerable time trying to locate rattling in the rear seat area, only to discover that the rear exhaust hangers and underside bumper shield mounts were loose. The resulting noise was transmitted up through the unibody frame. I only discovered the source when my trusty non dealer mechanic reviewed my local BMW dealer exhaust swap. $299 for batting clean up.
