WD pushes their new "Green" drives really cheap, but they are 5400rpm (not even 5900rpm) and they hibernate very very quick, so your access times go through the roof. Plus annoying drive spin-up, click, click, spin-down every few minutes.
Go with 7200. It will be OK for storing movies... but will offer absolutely no fault tolerance.
Also, USB blows for large transfers (like moves). The speed will gradually degrade as you are transferring a file.
