All other things equal (same wheels) you are probably right. I assume if someone is going to go nuts on tire size that they also know to run a wide enough wheel to take advantage of that large size. I'm not saying that a 295 width PSC will work better than a 265 width PSC on stock wheels. My assumption is that if someone wants to run 295 width tires, they are mounting them on 11 inch wide wheels.
