I went to kauai last spring with my gf, going back this fall. I'd budget about 300 per day per person. That's based on my experience and includes flight, hotel, car, meals, and alcohol. My ten day trip cost about 6k for two people. Fwiw, we stayed at the marriot at coconut beach. Food is expensive if you eat out. It's less so at supermarkets, but still more than in the CONUS. Also, we stayed in an oceanfront room, which obviously is more expensive.
