Fake.
I once had somebody call me from "verizon" who had most of my account information. Basically everything but my credit card and ask me for all my credit card information because my account was overdue. Was pretty good. I was caught off guard as they woke me up from a nap. As soon as they asked me for credit card info I told the guy on the line to fuck him self in the ass with a thorny branch.
