Would a few of you guys mind doing me a favor? If you have the clunking trans noise, try driving slowly through a parking lot, 20kmh-ish and just hold the clutch in and shift from 1 to 2 to 1 etc a couple of times. It may be normal but it sounds like a muffled clunking rattle. Its weird. If it is just the trans shifting, its surprisingly loud and unrefined. The shifting itself isn't rough though. I have driven lots of manual BMW's and the 1 to 2 shift has more "feeling" to it for sure, but no grinding or excessive force required.
