I came to different settings adjusting by ear. Notably I turned down the 100Hz and turned up the bass to flatten out the low end response. I'll use a test track when I get my car back to verify how close I was to flat...
*however* I just got the option and didn't look at it in detail, however what BMW claims is that it has a live DIRAC processor that supposedly sets up an EQ filter to make the audio "perfect" in real-time. I would imagine there is a microphone somewhere doing measurements. My current thought is the installation is f-d up and it's destroying the EQ curve instead of fixing it.
