I've got the same issue. My dealer tells me I've got a week 36 build, but OC still won't let me enter the production number. One time I tried, and it came up as a 2006 325i. I'm not worried about it, and I try to think about it as little as possible.
EDIT: I couldn't resist, and called the (800) number. I do indeed have an M3 coupe scheduled for Week 36 production (Sept. 1-5), but the exact production date has not yet been set. Apparently, until the exact date is set, the production number won't register with OC. I asked if I would still have time to alter options on my order after the info for '09 models comes out later this week. Interestingly, the rep said that the order options could be changed up through the day before the scheduled production date.
