Renault will remain in Formula 1
Renault has ended speculation over its Formula One future by announcing on Wednesday (Dec. 16) it is to remain in the sport in a new partnership with Luxembourg-based firm Genii Capital. The team are to continue under the Renault name but the French manufacturer has sold a stake to Genii (believed to be anything between 75 and 80 percent), which specializes in new technologies and brand management as well as motorsport.
Renault's new partner Genii Capital is confident that it can give the French car manufacturer the support and finances it needs to return to the top in Formula 1.
