I'm more inclined to believe that higher end audio equipment cares more about treble precision and clarity. While bass is important in any audio system I think it's probably easier for a system to provide good bass than it is for a system to provide truly impressive mids and highs.
By the way, I wish the worst type of ill-shit for anyone thinking of dropping one of those trunk bass boxes into their M3.
