The average contributor on this forum is 29 and the average 3 series buyer in 2004 was 46*. One can see how having such a young average age on this forum contributes to the information not reflecting the average BMW buyer. The polls people post are skewed not only by there being a large number of enthusiasts, but also by the considerably younger average age.

It’s been discovered many contributors don't really own a BMW. I’ve read two posts in the last couple weeks where someone posting about "their" e90 eventually changed their profile to another car. It was apparent the users never had an e90 (or a BMW at all). It would be interesting, but impossible, to find out just how many contributors aren’t truthful about their vehicle, location or age.

* Globally the overall BMW buyer average age is 46 in 2004. This is the same as the average age of the 3 series buyer. The 7 series had the highest average buyer age at 50.06 with the Z4 having the lowest average age of 44.08. The X5 was the next youngest age with 45.41. Keep in mind this is the average buyer age. The average driver age gathered from insurance figures would be slightly lower. The majority of luxury autos driven by younger persons are purchased/financed by parents. This explains the slight discrepancy (less than 3 year variance) between buyer and driver numbers.
