OP: Can you describe the ticking/knocking noise in more detail?

I had a similar sound with my car, BMW NA personally investigated and determined it was a low oil level (the Dealership had just performed 1st oil service and it was low). I don't have any answers, I'm just very interested to know more about it and whether it goes away with your new crankshaft and bearings. Subscribed.

1. At what mileage did you first hear it?
2. Is the sound audible on both sides of the engine or only at a certain rpm?
3. Did they mention if they had other cases?
