US-spec E46 M3 S54 engine was 333 SAE HP
Euro-spec M3 S54 engine was 343 HP...later revised to 338 DIN HP
The difference was primarily due to the location of the catalytic converters.
The US-spec cars had the cats
in the headers, while the Euro-spec M3's cat were located in the section 1 mid-pipe. (less restrictive)
