Boxster no question. Straight line speed they are not far apart, actually the new Cayman S with 325 hp runs a 12.4@112.1 mph which the old Boxster isn't too much slower and that is about what the M3 traps with DCT.
But if you want a razor sharp car, the boxster makes the M3 feel like an SUV and the steering on the Boxster makes the m3s feel lazy and numb by comparison. As a second car the Boxster is the only choice here IMO.
If you could get yourself into a Boxster Spyder that would be even better. Nothing BMW can touch that car in terms of the driving experience.
