Prices in Canada will always be higher than in the USA. It's a simple math issue. They have a basin of population ten times larger than here in Canada. Selling ten times more items of a product allows you to reduce its unit price without reducing your total profit at year end.

Also, pricing their car cheap make it easier for americans to buy one through financing, where BMW makes a killing. Traditionally, europeans buy their cars cash or at least finance a smaller amount of the price.

In North America, and in the U.S. in particular it's free for all. Most people will buy something with the lowest down payment and finance the rest, at ultimately an atrocious cost. That, my friends, explain in most part the reason the world economy is such in a big mess.
