You gotta remember that this show is not necessarily about subtly/tastefully modified show cars with uber expensive exclusive parts, it's about showcasing parts that companies want to sell and getting company names out there via feature car marketing.
For example, while there is a good amount of money in selling 20 $8k sets of high end wheels a year there is way more market share in selling 200 sets of $2000 wheels.
It's all about the Benjamin's baby and they don't discriminate!
