But, we don't know for sure if there will be a 235 yet, right? There could be a 230is instead (for example) with a N20 @ 280hp or so.
Also, recall that the E30 M3 was an I4 while the E30 325i was an I6. They could repeat that again. While I agree with you that it might be tougher to market, it seems plausible.
