driving typical BMWs everyday is not the same as driving an M3, and I didn't know BMW mechanics are so well paid they all own M3s. Not at all, fact is, the chance of them joyriding your M3 if they get a chance is high. There's been plenty reports of curbed wheels, excessive miles (a common occurence), idrive brake pads estimated maintenance date radically changed after a mechanic 'testdrive' and only a small proportion of owners actually notice or report these abuses. BMW centered its advertising of our car around the Joy of the ride ride lmaol. You bet it will get floored if they think no one will know.

Yes there's always that friendly mechanic who is a performance car enthusiast who you will trust more than yourself at the wheel but let's be realistic that's an outlier not your typical mechanic.
